Bellevue is a part of the King County in the state of Washington. It is growing at a very fast rate and the downtown of the city is a host to a number of big offices like Centeris, InfoSpace, Microsoft, T mobile, Wizkids etc. It is directly connected with Seattle through State Route 520 as well as Interstate 90. It is also very close to the headquarters of Microsoft. Both these factors contribute largely in making this city a center for so many businesses.
The Bellevue School District of the city gives a lot of importance to education. There are four public high schools in the city and their names are Newport High School, Bellevue High School, Sammamish High school and Interlake High School. There are two more high schools named Robinswood High School and International School. There are a number of Montessori schools also present in the city. Normally all these schools offer a lot of extra curricular activities such as debate, drama, orchestra, and band. There are vocational programs for students, such as travel and tourism, engineering and technology, networking, hotel etc. Certain special programs are available for the children who are not very sure if they will be able to complete their high school or not.
Bellevue has the largest community college in the entire state of Washington and it is called the Bellevue Community College. It was started in January 1950 and the number of students then, was less than 500. Ever since that time, this college has been a major center for higher education for the students. Equal importance is given to everyone here and there is no kind of discrimination allowed. In 2005, the Bellevue Community College received the Charles Kennedy Equity Award from the Association of the Community College Trustees for showing extra ordinary dedication towards the equal treatment of all the sections of society including women and the minorities.
According to the statistics, the real estate market of Bellevue has been doing quite well. The number of new listings has increased and so has the number of sales. The resale’s are also rising and are expected to rise further in the next few months along with the new listings in the market. There are some new residential constructions going on in the eastern part of the city and the price of the unit there is expected to start from as low as $900. This will further increase the number of listings as well as sales in the real estate market. The median value of the homes in the neighborhood of this area is approximately $534,800.
Bellevue has been rated among the 25 safest cities in the United States of America. Some of the attractions of the city include the Bellevue Arts Museum which was started in the year 1975, Rosalie Whyel Museum of Doll Art which has one of the biggest collections of dolls of the world, KidsQuest Children’s Museum, Lincoln Square, Lake Hills, the Strawberry festival which is held once in every year, Bellevue Sculpture Exhibition etc. Whenever you go to the city, you must visit these places to experience their uniqueness.
